Melanie McCulloch is an AHTA Accredited member of the Re-wired team, and as a Clinic
Partner takes every opportunity to help better the practice and ensure all patients
experience professional, evidenced-based treatment sessions.
Graduating in Melbourne in 1996 (I can’t believe that!) she was the first female
Occupational Therapist to work in Pentridge Prison assisting inmate rehabilitation. She
travelled to the UK where she lived for 7 years, and found herself completely intrigued with the field of Hand Therapy.
Returning home to Melbourne, with a strong focus on Hand Therapy she worked in
multiple public hospitals including Box Hill, Dandenong and Monash before embarking on
setting up her own private practice.
She has thoroughly enjoyed presenting workshops, papers, and posters at National and
International Conferences throughout the past 15 years.
She is honored to be an elected member on the AHTA Credentialing Council, playing an
integral role in the planning and development of the mentorship program for many years.
She is an AHTA presenter for their Open Trauma, Closed Trauma & Introduction to Hand
Therapy courses, where she loves sharing knowledge with like-minded colleagues.
She was involved in the first Plexus lnterplast Team which travelled to Vietnam in June 2016 where she volunteered to assist the Vietnamese medical community to improve their Hand Therapy Interventions with the Brachial Plexus Injured population. She enjoys applying her Hand Therapy skills to assist patients in their recovery and this opportunity was a career highlight.
Outside of work she loves the challenge of running an Olive Grove with her family,
producing their own Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and is enjoying learning the art of Bee Keeping
